So your thinking about becoming a pharmacist, but you don’t know if the job is right for you or not. Here is a brief description of what pharmacists do everyday.
Pharmacists keep track of all of the prescriptions a patient is taking to make sure that none of the prescriptions the patient is taking will react to each other in negative ways causing harm or death to the patient. Pharmacists inform patients on how to use the medicines provided to them, and inform the patients about the side affects of the medications provided. Pharmacists must know the composition of medicines, and give them out according to law, and monitor the amount of controlled medicine given out to patients so they can help ensure that medicine is not being illegally distributed. They order medicines and safely store them to keep them safe and affective by preserving them until they are prescribed to the patients. Pharmacists must oversee the pharmacy technicians they hire because the pharmacy technicians are usually the ones that fill the prescriptions and give them to the patient.
